I don’t always write sermons down, but when I do, I will post them on the blog, and you can quickly link to them from this page. There is a difference between a “sermon” and “preaching.” A sermon is like looking at a musical score, while preaching is like listening to the music. Preaching happens when the words of the sermon and the attention of the listener mingle. So, what you have here is half the raw material for the preaching moment. The other half is your interaction with it. Cheers, Adam.
P.S. Good sermons are context specific. However, the Interwebs do a good job of making context irrelevant. So, I may (regrettably) do a bit of editing here and there to make the sermons more Net-friendly.

Hi Adam+
Enjoyed your dissertation on “pericope” very much. Hope all is well with you (ankle recovered?). Like your sermons very much. Hope you had a good 4th of July.
I will be visiting Virginia September 16 & 17. It will not seem the same without the Class of 2008, but there are a lot of new SIM scholarship students this year so it will take two days to interview them all.
Cheers
Jerry+
Interesting analoby between the sermon and the preaching, but it’ s true. You certainly can’t judge a written sermon by those words alone. The preaching can take on a whole new life, can’t it?
Thanks,
Mark
