I'm reading "Things Hidden: Scripture as Spirituality" right now, and Richard Rohr does a nice job of breaking down those differentiating roles humans face from birth to a more enlightened state. I'm really enjoying it.

For me, my favorite passage in the Bible has long been "Father, father, why have you forsaken me?" Some folks think this might be morbid, but for me, it shows Jesus - a fully human and fully divine Jesus - all in one breath. He's there, dying for us, living for us, feeling every single thing each of us has ever felt in one single second. I'm sure that it's horrifying and enlightening and uplifting and terrible all in the flicker of a second.

Now, that's love. Big love. Crazy love. God's love. Wow.
